The meaning of life:
The meaning of life must be: survival that keeps body and soul together and growing, while the society continues the search for more meaning in life.
I have my suspicions of those that proclaim outright moral certainty because they got orders from a higher source. The rational part of my being questions that possibility.

Back this morning from vacation in Vancouver, Canada. We flew through Seattle on a free ticket. Those came from being bumped on a flight at Christmas time. That happened again yesterday. We spent a nice afternoon in Seattle, and got another free ticket. Lucky us. The return flight was also overbooked, and they were giving away free tickets for skipping that flight as well. Go figure.
Our folks are okay. Got to see almost everyone once. Missed a few people. Walked on the beach a bit, hiked in the mountains a bit, threw stones into the ocean. A little of everything. Oh I saw two fireworks shows at English Bay - via Kits Point. The Chinese seemed to have had a flash and bang spectacle. The Spanish had a very smooth almost ballet style show. Rockets going up and down. Very nice.
I cleaned up a few boxes of old text books from my parent's house. Took some home, and threw some away. The rest is for other siblings.
When the kids come back we will travel north to Massachusetts to visit family and possibly the beach. Hope things are warm.
